Say What? Where have you been girl?

As our temperatures climb during the summer in the Southwest as an artist I take additional time to rest and relax and hit the swimming pool to cool off. The water is so relaxing and comforting. https://www.artbytsh.com Plus, suddenly I developed a “trigger finger” which I had know idea what that really was? Unfortunately it was on my right hand. So I had to take care of this so that I could get back to painting or holding anything for that matter. I am happy to report it is better now I know what to look for so that this won’t happen again. It was quite painful when the joint would sort of freeze/lock up. It made it difficult to hold brushes or anything for that matter. This really surprised me. I have always stretched my hands, wrists and fingers before I start a new project. I paint on cushioned mat for my legs and back. I stay hydrated with water while painting. However this just snuck up on me out of the blue. I am approaching another journey around the moon soon so I need to really take care of my body and digits.

Finally, if you become injured or start having discomfort in areas on your body ( wrists, fingers, back, neck, elbows, shoulders even your knees) . Just stop painting for awhile and heal up. Never feel bad about it either. Try a warm wax lavender dip with your hand which is lovely. Make an appointment for a massage. Spend this time looking at art in galleries, online or reading that art book you bought and never had time to start or finish. Or just take the time to relax. (This bright pear was painted about 20 years ago).
