There is life after social media

Guess what? There is life after scrolling social media on a constant daily basis. Often its a good time to waste time while waiting for an appointment. However, for an artist it is one way to get your art out into the world. I have said this before often times this will be the only way a potential collector/buyer will ever see your artwork. With the price of gas people are probably not going to galleries or museum's now. I do my best to send out positive thoughts to other artists when they show their own work. This helps keep us all in the roll. The roll of discovery on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. Not everyone reciprocates.

Social media is not the end all or the be all thing in our own lives. I lived without it for years. So many other things in our life are far more important. Such as ; family, loved ones, personal growth, working, painting, networking, traveling, and a big one is our own health both physical and mental. When your health goes south it is time to re-evaluate the things in your own life. Try to remove those things that are upsetting you and causing anxiety. Often we are caught off guard when this occurs. As a Nurse I have heard a lot of “ why me” from patients. My own sister stated that to me when she received a catastrophic diagnosis. This is one of the great mysteries in life. I did not have an answer for her. Life can be very unfair at times. But its the journey we are afforded. It was the journey we were both on together till the end.

I remember my professor in college said that everyone is doing the best that they can at any given moment in time. That each individual we will meet as a patient/client will have their own life story and personal challenges they are living. That when we meet someone we have no idea what they have been through in their own life. So be kind and considerate to all you meet. We will be inundated with happy times and sad times. I also remember her saying “if you make it to 65 without some major disease then you will probably age well.” Probably was the word that caught me. I think this means nothing is for sure.

With that said, take good care of yourself. You only get one body in this life. Live life to the fullest. Do your very best, be kind to your neighbor, compliment someone, smile often and eat healthy . Take news and social media breaks. It is good for the soul.

My best,

sunny
